I’m a teenage trans guy going to his first gender clinic appointment!!! I’m afraid that my gender will be invalidated, but I am also really excited to be closer to transitioning. Anyone have gender clinic experiences? Or feel similarly?

I've been going to a gender clinic as my primary care provider since I started T about 4 years ago and they've been great. They go out of their way to make sure you're gendered properly and being given care that actually aligns with the changes you want, they even check in yearly about name and pronoun updates and you can change those any time as long as you ask. Most of my nurses and more than one of my endocrinologists have been transgender/non-binary and thei provide resources to other trans friendly medical and social care. Obviously it's not going to be exactly the same everywhere but I wouldn't worry yourself too much

i've been there!! i start testosterone tomorrow after years of therapy, endocrinologist appointments, blood tests, and psych evals. i hope everything goes smoothly for your appointment - if it doesn't, no worries! you'll get there, even if it feels like you're just treading water, i promise.

Been there! I’ve been on T for almost 5 years now and I promise you that the folks at your gender clinic will believe you and they are there to help you.

yep :)) i recently went to my first gender clinic appointment; i don’t live in the most accepting state so it was nerve wracking, but it went well :] i’ll be starting testosterone (hopefully) in the upcoming months. Everyone was really nice there, and open to listen and help you out! Good luck with your appointment, I’m glad you got in!!
