You need to have a long-term treatment plan. Whether its situational or chronic, severe depression takes work. Hard work. And consistent work. That's why therapists are incredibly helpful, because they can give you the tools and accountability you need to move through your healing journey. If you feel that you are constantly feeling unbearably suicidal and nothing helps, it may be necessary to seek more advanced treatment options. However, most of the time it can be alleviated by frequent therapy and medication. It isn't completely necessary to manage depression with the help of a therapist, but without them, thorough research is needed--possible, but harder. No matter your curcumstance, there is no reason to be distraught, because there is always help available to you. And remember that you have to learn to walk before you can crawl, and it's baby steps to big kid steps to adult walking from there.

You don't cure depression as much as we all wish we coukd or eat the commercials and people who Odon have it want us to believe.... you just find better coping mechanisms and grow your coping skills. You find therapy and therapeutic things outside of therapy. You learn to be patient and understanding with yourself and give yourself time. It helps to find people who understand

Try to be both gentle and patient with yourself. Hospitalisation is meant to stabilise out of crisis, not cure. Feeling better will take a lot longer. But with the right medication, therapy, and time- things will feel better. I won't say that depression will 100% go away, but it's been 11 years since my hospitalisation. I've had several times since where I've been depressed. And a couple instances where I've been suicidal. But I can count them on one hand. And I was better equipped to handle them. You'll be able to get there too. Don't lose faith in yourself, okay? You're worth it.

I can't give advice. I haven't hurt myself yet. I can only say don't give up.
