How to Find a New Therapist When You Graduate College?

I have to find a new therapist by December. I currently utilize the counselors at college, but I graduate in December. How do I find a new therapist? I’ve made so much progress with my current one (2 years) that I’m afraid of switching

Psychology Today has a find a therapist search tool! Super helpful 😊

I second this! It’s how I’ve found all of mine and my friends’ therapists!

You could always try talking to the school to see if you might be able to continue treatment with them. I know how hard it is to switch therapists - your school counselor may be able to make a recommendation for someone new as well who has a similar approach. I was lucky because when I graduated from college my therapist moved to a private practice and I saw them for a little while afterwards. It is worth a shot to ask the schools counseling center and try to work something out!

Thank you! I will definitely ask her, I really trust her. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this!!

I second the "ask for a recommendation" part. Your therapist knows what you need
