How to Find Motivation When You're Stuck in a Rut

How do you motivate yourself to get out of bed? To actually apply to that job you want, instead of just staying in a job you hate? To do menial chores around the house?

remember to reward yourself for doing things you finding particularly boring/difficult. or do something like play some music, a podcast, or tv show you like at the same time. also, i try to do all of my more menial chores right after i take my adderall in the morning. i can get it done so fast that i don't realize how boring it is lol

A body double helps me best because what I usually need is emotional support to push through my tasks.

My thinking is if I don't move, I'll get anxiety that I'm doing absolutely nothing. That and food, my room is one of the farthest from the kitchen lol.

I like to think about how good I would feel after I do the task. So like my motivation to get up would be to start with a shower because I love the feeling of being clean afterwards and I usually play music to sing along to to also help with my mood

I use my dog or my lil sister as motivation along with my girlfriend. Of course it's different for everyone. Living by myself is also a great motivator for me. For chores, I put on a show that is specifically for chores. It's like a treat for myself.

that's such a good idea! Never thought of that, but to be fair, haven't been doing a lot of thinking recently, mostly just...existing? Idk man, specially not in these times
