I'm not sure how severe or where you are in your fibro journey. Walking, something that I always was capable of doing at long distances and at a decent pace is now one of my biggest challenges. This domino's into other aspects. It's super frustrating.

I strongly encourage you to supplement your walking with stretches prior to the walk and after. It will hopefully help with recovery time. How I miss it !! I have PEM and I’m struggling to find a balance with OT/PT but it wiped me out. Long Hauler with a ton of new chronic illnesses

I started with walking in my yard, then to the mailbox… a little more every few days/weeks…

I’ve found a cane helps me pace myself and stay balanced.

I'm trying to find the balance between blood pressure meds and being a somewhat functional fibro patient. I feel your pain.

I am in the same boat 😥 I always walked and worked out and I can barely walk to my car. I have also put on a lot of weight due to medication and I know this doesn’t help of course but it has gotten worse. I do agree with Ctmom you have to pace yourself and do your best

I started out walking slowly and in small amounts. I keep track of how much I walk and try to challenge myself. But tracking it shows me how much I have accomplished. Some weeks are bad weeks. Some are better. I find that walking helps me. The breathing of fresh air, saying hi to neighbors and enjoying the beauty around me is so good! Hang in there and give yourself grace. Do what your body will allow.
