Anyone here with FM that does NOT have trauma in their early life? I heard trauma is a huge risk factor and just wondering if that's true for everyone...

My trauma was Weight loss surgery.

I didn’t have any trauma before my fibro started! I did have some later that worsened my condition, but it had nothing to do with the onset. Everyone is different! It might be a common initial cause but it’s certainly not a requirement!

I don't have any trauma from my childhood but i was in an abusive relationship in my early 20's. My doctor said that is more than likely what caused it.

It is like your body knows what happened before you do.

I don't think that stress trauma or diet is everyone's contributing factor I feel like that's just their way of continuing to gaslight us by saying it's in our head

I have fibromyalgia but don't have any specific trauma from my childhood! The only thing I think could have brought it on for me is that I had scoliosis surgery at age 11. I guess that's physically traumatic, but I don't think a lot of people consider that childhood trauma haha

I would consider major surgery at age 11 a trauma. Both physical and mental. Going through surgery is traumatic for anyone, especially a child.
