Seeking Pain Relief for Fibromyalgia: Any Medications That Work?

What medications help with pain relating to Fibromyalgia? My rheumatologist says that no pain meds will help with the pain related to it so she's taken me off of any medications relating to pain.

I take Lyrica and cymbalta for pain. It helps somewhat, but I have not gotten complete relief from anything

If you're open to it, medical marijuana. That's the only thing that even touches my pain.

They do say that Pregabalin helps however I have a lot of Mental Health issues and it effects me by making me angry and aggressive. I have 20microgram Morphine Patches 1 per week and Paracetamol and Co-codamol with Paracetamol. I'm not sure it helps but I think the Patch does something? 🤔

I would change my rheumatologist! My rheumatologist has me on pregablin, amitriptyline and prescription strength ibuprofen. Doesn't completely stop the pain, but certainly does go along way in helping.

Pregabalin, duloxetine, and milnacipran are the drugs specifically indicated for fibromyalgia and related pain. I would be yelling at your rheumatologist for you because I don't know where she's getting this idea from that she's taking you off those drugs.

It seems like you're on the most common unless that's what you were taken off of. There is no tried and true remedy for fibromyalgia pain. I found that a combination of meds and diet help a bit. Lots of chili peppers and turmeric. Sometimes, a mint tea wrap. I'm sure that something can take the edge off and bring the pain Level down a bit.
