Fibromyalgia Pain Relief: Chiropractor or Pain Meds?

Anyone with fibro try a chiropractor for the pain? Or what type of pain meds have helped you? Ive had gabapentin but it did nothing for me so I have gone 7 years with no pain meds but now I am having longer flare ups. Going on my 3rd week of being in a painful flare up. I keep active and work out minimum 3x week.

Gabapentin made me sleep walk. Fell several times. Down the steps. Broke both collet bones. At different falls. Never take it again.

I stopped taking gabapentin. It made my ankle swell. I do take duloxetine which is Cymbalta. It seems to work. I'm also taking ashwaganda

I haven't, I was told it could weaken my muscles to get cracked all the time. But not everyone is the same.

When I could afford it I was going to the chiropractor 3 times a week. I not only got relief, but I was able to walk for exercise again too. I was taking pain medicine at the time as well, but that's because I have several painful conditions. I have tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Tramadol as mentioned in previous posts, and for me the Lyrica worked the best.

Medical marijuana has been helpful for me. It doesn't take the pain away but distracts you from focusing on the pain.

yes I agree. Makes you feel a little better even if the pain is still there

Lyrica has worked for me and there is also a generic for it. When I get really tense and tight and it hurts to move and when I do move my body pop and cracks all over that's when I go to my chirpractor. He always scolds me for waiting so long!

I have been seeing a naprapath for 3 months an have reduced some medications an added things changed my diet has changed a little. She is gradually changing me to a better anti inflammatory diet without giving up up every thing I love. She’s also started me on homeopathic medication that are also helping. So if do. Find a good one.

Talk to your doctor about the withdrawal symptoms before taking. This drug has a short half life (the amount of time it takes to get out of your system) a

I had some luck with it. My problem was that if I missed a dose, it messed with my head. The withdrawal was brutal.
