Fibromyalgia Pain Behind Left Knee for Months - Normal?

Those with Fibromyalgia, is it normal to have a specific pain in a certain area for months on end? I've had this pain behind my left knee for about 6 months and it never goes away, and hurts more when I lay down. It feels like a strained muscle but will sometimes go further up my thigh up into my buttock. I do also have sciatica but this pain isn't the same as that, although I have had constant back pain in the past that eventually went away, which could've been attributed to fibro. My diagnosis is very new so I'm still trying to figure things out 😅

Depends. Regular pain in an area can just be fibro, but it can also be something else. Does this pain flare up at different times than your general fibromyalgia pain flares up? I had constant pain in my hips and realized that it could be flaring painfully when the rest of my fibro was pretty mild, which made me get it checked out. I have a several problems with my hips that showed up on MRI but not x-ray. Normally my fibro is whole body pain when it’s flaring, with hot spots in certain areas, so the hip pain wasn’t matching.

I keep asking the same question. I've gotten ever pain checked out(back, neck, spine, knees, Nevers) Everything came back totally normal. I've had extreme recital pain but I'm even saying that is fibro.

It's very frustrating! It's such a new, weird pain. Unlike the other kinds of pains I've had since I was a teen (I'm 27 now). So it feels weird to me that it would be just a totally new symptom of fibro, but I also had an ultrasound and nothing came back. If it continues I'll have to ask my doctor for more tests, I suppose! If it does end up coming back as nothing I guess I have my answer lol

Did anything happen to your knees like surgery or an injury? Also, do you feel the same type of pain anywhere else? If its not widespread it could be CRPS/RSD. I was first diagnosed with CRPS bc the pain was mostly around the surgery scar in my foot, but it became widespread and now my diagnosis is fibro. Maybe your pain is closer to CRPS than fibro?? Idk im not a doctor lol

I haven't had an injury there, no. Although I will say the pain does sometimes, but very rarely, pop up on the other leg too. But it's very rare. It's the first time I've ever felt this sort of pain but that might just be more because of WHERE the pain is, rather than the feeling it gives. If that makes any sense? I suppose I'll have to tell my doctor about it again eventually! For now he seems to just attribute most of my pain to fibro.

My fibro is in my knees partially too. I think I’m going to try to get some scans of knees, because what I thought was fibro in my back ended up being a spinal deformity! So my advice is don’t give us, Especially if the pain isn’t symmetrical! It might end up not being fibro

I was very worried it could've been a blood clot a while ago and had an ultrasound done but they found nothing. I'm the type of person who gets nervous to go to the doctor in case it ends up being nothing, even though I know that's a silly way to handle it 😅 I'm already back and forth the doctor's with so many different issues and it's hard to schedule an appointment because my husband is my carer and is the one who has to drive me and can't always take days off work so I'm not sure if I could get it looked at any time soon. It does worry me a lot though and often keeps me awake at night 😥
