Looking for Advice on Nerve Pain Meds for Fibromyalgia

hi everyone, im wondering if people with fibro could weigh in on which nerve pain meds they prefer! my rheumatologist started me on gabapentin last month but another provider was surprised he didnt put me on lyrica or cymbalta. tbh i am very hesitant to try cymbalta because ive been on so many different psych meds in my life and don’t want to try a new one even if it’s not for that 😭 just looking to hear people’s experiences w these meds, i was just dxed w fibro last month after years of testing so while im not new to being chronically ill/in pain/disabled i finally have a diagnosis

Gabapentin works great for me, I take it through out the day. Effexor also works great for my leg pain

I took lyrica and it didn’t really work for me. Right now I’m on 900mg of gabapentin in the morning and 1200mg at night, and I take a muscle relaxant morning and night. Imipramine can help with pain as well As much as it sucks, you just kinda have to try different ones to see which works 😩 it’s awful but there’s not really another way to do it. Medications affect everyone differently, and you just have to find what works for you! Good luck 🥺 feel free to pm me if you want to talk!!

I'm currently on cymbalta and it works for me but i also do other things as well such as aqua therapy and I'm starting massage therapy and acupuncture soon.
