Heart Palpitations with Fibromyalgia

I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years. Has anyone experienced heart palpitations all the time? I finally went to a cardiologist because they have gotten so bad. I would appreciate any personal experience you’ve had 😊

I have. I have tachycardia bc of lupus and fibromyalgia. It attacks the walls of your heart if your not careful. Make sure you see a cardiologist. Very important.

If your cardiologist can give you some medicine to calm things down it helps. I take Atenolol and it’s great. But a side effect I do not like is that it makes your feet and ankles swell if you increase the dosage.

I don’t get palpitations unless I am having anxiety so this wouldn’t relate to me.

I get palpitations when I forget my meds. I am on beta blockers because I get palpitations very often. I take Bisoprolol. It really helps!

I take diltiazem and metoprolol for my tachycardia (elevated heart rates). I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia & my heart rates have went as high as 190 without meds and just waking up or resting.

Fibromyalgia has high incidence of comorbidity with other forms of Dysautonomia including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
