I have a neighbour who has fibro, takes it regularly and says it really helps. I took it for a day and found the nausea extreme. I dissociated and couldn't function, I took forever to get dressed and paused brushing my hair, just stopped and sat there. So I didn't take it again. However recently I realised that I shouldn't have taken the anti nausea drug Zofran/ oestadanron with it as this can cause serotonin syndrome. I am too scared to try it again - I know the pain and can pace myself but I couldn't handle being on that. I know it takes a while for side effects to settle and the drug to work properly, but I couldn't manage weeks like that, I have too many responsibilities to not function for a while.

I was put on low dose naltrexone a while ago, and it actually made my pain worse. They tried having me take it in a different form afterwards and I refused since it was so expensive and I assumed would cause me the same issues.

Duloxetine slightly helped my pain while I was on it, but caused horrible BP issues, dissociations, spasms, and overall I found not worth it. Gabapentin caused me to have brain fog, memory issues, and dissociations. I'm currently on Lyrica/Pregabalin. It seems to help the pain some at least. Not as bad mental issues as the other meds I've taken. It's been suggested to me to use a Quell tens machine thing. I haven't gotten it yet, but I've heard it helps disrupt pain signals with fibro. Maybe worth looking into. Best of luck! Pain does crazy things to people's mental state, but stay strong! You can do it!

Oddly enough, I *developed* fibromyalgia while taking duloxetine. My pain was noticeably worse when I stopped though-- so now even though I'm on completely different psych meds, I still take duloxetine for pain. So, I would say marginal benefit for me, but not insignificant.
