Looking for Advice on Fibromyalgia Diagnosis

Hello! I have not been officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia but it has been suggested as a strong possibility by several doctors. I am wondering if anyone can share what their path to a fibro diagnosis was like and if there are tests for getting diagnosed or how this works? What specialists to see? Etc. thank you for your help!

I had a blood test, they basically need to rule everything else out. It's a sort of "We have nothing left, so you have fibro." No one really knows the cause. All process of elimination

Fibromyalgia has no definitive test to diagnose. Drs will rule out other things like arthritis, MS, Lupus, depression, EDS, and some other things. Neurologists and rheumatologists will usually work together to rule out other dx's. Many different blood tests, MRI's, possibly spinal tap ( if you do end up with a spinal tap absolutely make sure the neurologist doing it can and will perform a blood patch epidural if(when) you develop a spinal headache after)

Hey there! You'll need to seek out a rheumatologist, all they did for me personally was a blood test to see if anything else was going on and I was diagnosed through a trigger point test. Best of luck to you, I hope you get answers soon! X
