Fibromyalgia and Covid: Experiencing Pain Times 100

Hello. I have fibromyalgia & haven’t yet found a medication that works for me. I tend to be allergic to a LOT of medications. Anyway, I just got my test results today & I have Covid. Have any of you had Covid? My body hurts SO badly. It’s like fibromyalgia pain times 100. I didn’t know if that’s normal for people with fibromyalgia & Covid? Thanks.

I take Gabapentin for my Fibromyalgia. It was working really well, but it is causing me to have severe constipation. I’m sure the IBS is throwing a wrench into everything!

I’m currently recovering from omicron as well, and I’ve definitely noticed a lot more pain than usual. I had a really bad cold a while ago, and hurt really bad then too. I don’t think fibro gets along well with illness.

I had covid early November. I know what you mean about the pain. My friends who had it at the same time said they hurt, but nowhere near the pain I felt. So yes, I believe having Fibro makes Covid worse for us.

Sadly, my daughter now has Covid too. I think I’m glad I didn’t get it until now. We have the Omicron, which the symptoms are “supposed” to be not as bad. I think it’s because of all my health issues that I feel so poorly with it. I have fibromyalgia, Crohn’s, Menierre’s, RA, asthma, a heart condition, thyroid/Hashimoto’s & several other less severe issues. I hope I’m able to naturally build antibodies from having it. My niece has a few of the same diseases I have & she naturally built up antibodies against it now.

If you are unvaccinated the symptoms can be much more severe. If you're fully vaccinated and boosted the symptoms are much milder.

No I did not. My rheumatologist urged me not to get it. I have a lot of health issues & he didn’t feel comfortable for me to get it.
