Struggling with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Hi, I’m new to this, so I’m not really sure what to say. I’m really struggling with my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I live alone and just moved, so it’s up to me to do all the unpacking. That’s hard enough to find the energy for, but add to it the fact that I bought my condo furnished (beautifully) and I’m completely lost as yo how to add my personal belongings in with what’s already here. Long story short, I get stressed out just thinking about the task at hand, and that makes my symptoms worse! Any advice is welcome.

Welcome to Alike @wiserlemming you’re in a good place here. So many of us have complete understanding of your situation. I’m in the process of moving several states away myself. The unpacking is a challenge but like our fellow Fibro CFS warriors have already said one box at a time. My strategy will be to make sure I really need the items as I unpack as well. I have really weeded through things. Most have been packed since May and we haven’t missed them. I’m starting to think we can so without most of the items packed. Time will tell once we get into the cooler months. But back to you, daily prayers for calm and trust that you will be guided by God’s spirit. Isaiah 30:15

My advice would be, set a minimum time limit to work on it. I can be 10 minutes a day, 20 minutes a day, or x minutes a day. Just make it an attainable goal that won’t send you in to a flare. You can work on it more if you feel up to it too! I’m sorry you have to go through this! Blessings!

I totally agree with both of the above. Just do a little at a time. I usually just set a small goal and if I get it done, great! If not, tackle it tomorrow. Also, just put out what is the most important to you, to see everyday or something. I have a furnished apartment and I just put out family pictures and a few knick knacks. The rest stays in boxes in the closet or storage. I'm hoping to move to an unfurnished place in the next year, but we'll see. Be easy on yourself and take lots of breaks.

Unpack 1 box a day (maybe 2 on your day off) and give yourself permission to rest as needed
