Worried about not being able to tell which treatment is working

I'm having my first and only fibroid removed in a month. I'm having a kyleena IUD put in at the same time. I am worried that after the double procedure, I may not be able to tell which treatment is or is not working. What if kyleena actually makes my hormonal problems worse over time, and I can't tell because of the relief from menorrhagia I experience on removal of the cyst?

I'm 60 and at age 53 I went through menopause. Now I have a uterine fibroid and every month I feel like I still have the painful swollen breast and back pain and bloating. Does any one else experience this with uterine fibroid?
