There’s no way out. I have my ‘good days’ thinking things are gonna keep getting better, but I’m still the same amount of sad I’ve always been. And it hasn’t changed for 20 years. I’ve been seeking help for a year and a half now and I’m nowhere close to even saying I’ve changed. It doesn’t change. No matter how tenacious I am about ‘just keep swimming’ all I get is some glimmer of hope that never turns into anything. I went to therapy today and all I was told is ‘yeah just keep going’ and that’s always how sessions go. Every therapist I’ve ever had: “I don’t have a solution for you. Just stop being wrong. And when you’re right, I’m sorry, just keep moving. There’s nothing I can do to help you feel any better. There’s nothing you can fucking do but ‘cope’.” I’m trying SO HARD to have SOMETHING to hold onto. I’m sick of being told I already have everything I need. For 20 years I’ve been working with that mindset, trying to appreciate everyone and everything, taking control of my problems, taking accountability, planning for the future, making actions towards the future, improving how I eat, taking medications, exercising, maintaining healthy relationships… Nothing has changed a thing. Someone please tell me why I’m even trying anymore.

I understand....and I wish there was a "magic answer" to our problem. You said everything we all feel...and more. I'm grateful I found this group to support and encourage each other. Sending you good thoughts.❤️
