Feeling Stuck on Lexapro

I've been on 20mg Lexapro for a little over a year now, and I feel like my progress is going backwards, I don't know that I want to change meds because of how long it took to get over the side effects when I started the Lexapro, but I want to be happier. What do you suggest?

I don't anything to suggest when it comes to meds, since my Lexapro has been working since I started taking it, but I can suggest tools and give advice for helping to manage depression. I was diagnosed with depression in 2016 and started talking Lexapro the summer of 2020.

I had the same problem, so I went back to my doctor and he suggested adding Wellbutrin on top of my Lexapro 20mg. Lexapro and Wellbutrin work differently, so while lexapro can make you a bit more tired or fuzzy feeling at first, Wellbutrin has the opposite effect, and tends to make people feel more energized. But if you also have anxiety, you just need to watch your anxiety levels and make sure the Wellbutrin doesn’t make them get out of control since it’s more of an “upper” if that makes sense.

sorry that I don't have anything helpful but you're not alone, I've been on the highest dosage of lexapro for years now and I'm seeing a psychiatrist soon because of the depression getting worse
