Thank you! I will try some of those techniques and see how they help me. I just started experiencing it this past month so I haven’t went to see a therapist yet. I would really like to, I just have to find one. This is all new to me.
So I have severe anxiety. I’ve started to see a new therapist who specializes in anxiety and here is what I’ve learned so far. When your overthinking is really important to ground yourself) I recommend progressive relaxation (which is where you start at your feet and tighten then release each muscle all the way up to your head) Journaling is a really good tool to just put all your raging thoughts down And be able to look at them- after journaling about negative thoughts- my therapist recommends writing positive counter thoughts to them. So if I write something like “I am worried my boyfriend is going to cheat on me” I will write something like “he doesn’t seem like the type of person to cheat on me- and even if he does I will be okay” This is teaching me to start arguing with my anxiety in my head and I’m learning to really calm down We also started doing something called “tapping” where you tap meridian points in your body and repeat a mantra. It calms me down as well I’ve also started taking 40mg cbd oil every night to help me sleep All of this has really helped me to stop overthinking and to start being a more healthy partner!!! There is hope I know you will get better
