Feeling Stuck in Counseling

Looking for advice.. I been in counseling for a few years now. This is weekly, I have come to a wall on what to talk about. I feel as if it’s a waste of time, we are not speaking on anything that I find is beneficial to bettering my mental health. When this happens what’s next?

What are your goals? Do you feel like you have the coping skills you need? How well do you identify and express emotions? How are your communication and assertiveness skills? Do you have trauma in your past? There are lots of things to do in therapy. If you feel like you’ve met all your goals and there isn’t anything else from my list (which, admittedly isn’t exhaustive) then maybe you need a break? I am a therapist so you can ask me any questions you might have and I am happy to answer them if I am able.

You can ask the therapist to lead the conversation.

I've had that happen a lot over the course of Almost 20 years of therapy P and I kinda had to stop and think about why I started therapy to begin with when I came to those walls that's what I ended up doing stopping and thinking about The progress that I made since starting therapy andThat helped open a new door and Stopped that wall Of old topics
