It's totally normal! I got diagnosed when I was 18, i didn't know what it means and what my future will be like. I was in shock for a couple of months. It took a while to understand, to learn more about the disease and about myself.

I was diagnosed a long time ago and honestly only a couple of years later, after finding the right meds for me and going to therapy, I managed to accept that I have the disease. I learned what it means for me and how it shaped my life. Be patient! Explore and learn more about yourself and your disease.

It takes awhile to figure out what your triggers are for bipolar depression and the mania part too. I was diagnosed bipolar 2 in 1995. I get suicidal thoughts a whole lot. They just don’t seem to want to go away. I know I don’t do well with Stress. It will really set me off.

Most of people unable to aware about their bipolar symptoms. It took me around 2 years after diagnosis to understand myself better and what triggers are. Take your time to know yourself and learn more about your triggers... Once you are there at this point you would be feeling a lot better about yourself. Hang in there!
