Feeling Like a Burden to Others

Sometimes I feel like a burden to others,I feel like anything I do it always annoys someone and I hate it,I always think maybe everyone would be better off if they never heard from me anymore, maybe I should just end things but at the same time I’m afraid to do it,I always have these dark thoughts in my mind and I never question them I always agree to them.

I honestly feel the exact same way. In my experience the thought that I’m a burden has hindered my relationship with people who care about me and it seems that I struggle with this even more when I’m putting in effort to relationships with people who don’t care about me. It makes me feel even more alone and it makes me feel exactly how you do… that everything I do is annoying, that I’m a burden, and that maybe I shouldn’t be here. My advice to you is to try and not have this feeling effect your ability to connect with the people in your life that truly care for you. Talking with someone you are friends with or a member of your family may help with this feeling because for the most part this is only in your mind. Even though this won’t help the way you view yourself (because no matter what anyone says I still believe I’m a burden) it might give you the reassurance that you need that you aren’t annoying or that they aren’t better off without you. You are valuable even if you don’t see it for yourself right now. Also, talking with my counselor has helped a little. Is there anyway you can get help for this?
