I absolutely feel you. I once thought that I was doomed to be broken forever because I had been broken time and time again, but broken things can be put back together again! I thought that there was too many things wrong with me and I didn’t know how to fix it all. My therapist told me something at the time that I absolutely hated because I wanted fast progress, but it’s all baby steps. If you can work on one issue little by little, it will get easier to help manage or correct other behaviors. Something I always tell myself is that no matter how long it takes to put me back together again, I have to do it. Failure isn’t an option for me in this matter. I can take a couple years and build myself up again and set good and healthy boundaries within myself and be able to do the great things I want to do in life, or I can spend the rest of my life an angry bitter person with no chance at a good healthy life and dwell on my problems. To me, the choice is simple. I don’t want to feel like shit all of my life and I want to better myself for me and my family and friends. We all have days that we struggle and we may be bitter and angry or cry for hours and hours, but as long as those days don’t latch on to you as a way of life for years and years, that is okay. It’s okay to have emotions that aren’t positive ones, it’s absolutely natural and it’s not good to hide them away, but it’s not good to keep them either. I’m always here if you need to talk! I hope you have a healthy journey!
