Just walking around my house this afternoon feeling anxious and like an alien, feeling disconnected from everybody and the world around me… so tired of this feeling I would literally do anything to make it go away.. I’ve tried many grounding techniques but maybe their is one out there I haven’t tried.. suggestions!? Success stories would be awesome!

Ugh I hate this feeling! I will get it when I’m running errands or at the grocery store. It’s so uncomfortable and it always triggers my panic attacks and flight or fight response bc I don’t feel like I’m in my own body… something my therapist told me to try that has actually helped me is by putting ear phones in or listening to music in your house. Lighting candles helps too bc I love the scents. It relaxes me and helps me stay present. Having a piece of candy or gum helps too. I hope these help you too!

@Cat_Mom yes! My ole man thinks it's strange I listen to music with headphones in our house but it works!! I forgot about candy! Yeah, that's a good one! I used to have a hardcore sugar addiction so I've quit sugar cold turkey a few or more times. I can have it around now though and not just gobble it up. Thanks 🙏🏻 I hadn't thought about it much before but you I think solidified using sugar as a distraction!! Thanks again 🙂🤙

i would suggest listening to a meditation podcast as you sleep. having those last moments of consciousness be pure grounding has helped me decompress

sometimes i try a mind over matter, i tell myself it’s in my head and sometimes that can get me out of a constant state of anxiousness, deep breathing while going for a walk outside helps me too

Thankfully I have alot of strong people around me that have helped me get through feelings of anxiety I'm not 100% but I'm better than I was. Instead of staying inside I walk outside the sun helps wake me up a bit.

Talking to a therapist has seem to help my anxiety a lot and also having a really close knit 1-2 people who you can meet Atleast once a week and talk about each others lives, struggles, happiness and keep it just in that group has helped me SO SO much. And 1 major thing that changed my life was Jesus. I was on the verge of committing suicide and I made one last cry of help to God and he showed up, and I haven’t been the same since. I’m not saying life was all of a sudden perfect, but there has been an incredible peace through many hardships. It’s been 7 years and I haven’t looked back.
