@Riptide you have us. I know it's not the same, but better than nothing. I mean thats why we're here, right?

I know what you mean. I was the one who tried to keep friendships going. I kept one or two going for a year or two. My best friend joined the navy and that was it with him. I even tried to get my class to do a 5 year and 10 year reunion but nothing. My only real friend now is my wife of 32 years and a few online people I've never met face to face.

@Dad.of.Many Sadly, seems to be how it is sometimes. We can only hang on for so long before it starts to drain any emotions we have left; not worth the stress. That’s great that you have someone to be by your side through life. I wish you and your family the best.

I got tired of always being the one reaching out.. I have one close friend that I can rely on, but they live quite far. I moved to a different state 12 years ago and haven’t been able to build a meaningful friendship closer since.

I used to have a lot of friends but it seems the older we got the more separated things became. I stay close to the family that's REALLY there. I feel like being alone sometimes help with not being misunderstood.

Yeah, I get it. Other than a few guys in my Division game unit, I’m pretty much Lone Wolf McQuaid.

35 weeks pregnant here and baby shower is coming and I'm really sad because it'll probably be 2 people.

I don't have physical friends because I'm in recovery and I genuinely don't know how I feel about being actually around others rightnow, but I do trust myself. Sometimes I feel very sad and alone.. I try to be positive for my daughter

I feel like this all the time. My friends at college don't really seem to listen to me and I have always been the punching bag of the group. I'm only a friend when it's convenient otherwise, Im the last choice. Even in my family

@MusicalGamer and with family I'm always the fifth wheel against my successful older brother and sister

@Dad.of.Many I am the exact same way with my siblings

@MusicalGamer I feel you. I've always been one to use comedy and laughter to cover fears and emotions. That annoying old song "tears of a clown" describes me to a tee. My counselor figured me out though and whenever I laugh or joke she asks me what's bothering me.

All the time. I never see anyone but my family in person. I am borderline agoraphobic. I only have a few people I consider friends on social media. My kids were my best friends till they grew up and went out on their own, and now they rarely visit. I may have leaned on them too much.
