Dealing with Anxiety at Work

I'm having a tough situation happening at work. My anxiety got so bad that I had to take emergency meds. When you feel that bad what do you do to calm down?

Have you tried the 4 -7-8 breathing technique? My Doctor gave me this and it really does help! You breathe in for 4, breathe out for 4 x 2 . On the third breath in, hold it for 7 seconds and breathe out for 8 seconds. Then repeat! I do it 3-5 times and it really calms me down, especially before sleep. Also, there’s a lavender supplement that my Dr actually recommends in place of klonopin. You can get it from Amazon, it’s called Lavela WS 1265 by Integrative Therapeutics. (Drink lots of water when you take it). It definitely helps!

I try to find humor, which sounds weird, but I'll force myself to dance or say to myself, "Breathe, bitch. BREATHE." Taking it less seriously takes away its power. And be sure to drink water, because the mechanism of swallowing interrupts things like panic in the body.

What I do to help with my anxiety is journal , draw Sketch read a book, I take deep breaths and I try not to focus on my anxiety I'll distract my mind else where on something positive you could say to yourself while taking deep breaths I am going to be fine , this feeling will eventually pass. It's what I do to help myself . Or I'll surround myself with my kids to help . Or listen to some good positive music . Anything to positive keep you calm would help I think.

For me it's just meds and being near my comfort person and just letting myself be for a while
