I don't know why but my fear of the dark gets WORST every time. I can't fall asleep until 10 am! I know this sounds dumb to be scared of the dark, but it's scary since I end up seeing things or people who aren't there! the meds don't do nothing but make my fear strongerš. Im scared and anxious if what I'm seeing is real. Also I'm new and early morning to ya!

I'm also scared of the dark. I sleep with a nightlight on in my room, the hallway, and in the bathroom. I then sleep with a HugMe toy which glows for a certain amount of time if you press the hand of the plushie. It makes me feel safer and helps my delusions lessen a lot. I sleep with lots of plushies, all have jobs, one is at the end of the bed, he protects my feet, one is by the side of the bed, he protects me from the side and watches the door, and one is by my head, watching the entire room. The rest of the plushies are on guard the entire night. These are my coping mechanisms and how I help myself, hopefully you find something that helps you. š«

I can't fall asleep in a pitch black room, I have to have some sort of light and sound on. One thing that really helps is warm white Christmas lights. They're pretty and versatile so you can put them almost anywhere. They also have warm white led strips. I recommend the warm white because it's easy on the eyes at night and creates a cozier atmosphere to sleep.
