I am not entirely sure I understand the question... I mean it's totally normal to be scared about someone doing that if you know they have done it in the past.

Completely agree with your response. I think the person is asking if being cautious of someone with an abusive history is okay. It is, and to be able to acknowledge that fear shows a lot of awareness and is a good thing.
