Exploring the Possibility of Getting a Service Dog

looking really heavily into getting a service dog. i need it trained for me, as i’m in school full time and wouldn’t be able to dedicate enough time in the early stages to have successful training. they’re expensive though and i worry a lot about money but i also think a service dog would improve my quality of life greatly

I've been wanting to get a service dog for so long cause I feel it'll help me a lot but I have a dog currently who is old and I can't get another dog til she's gone because she has anxiety and I don't wanna stress her out

i get that too. i have a little dog who’s really attached to me and i’m not sure how he’d do with the adjustment. he does a lot of emotional regulation for me instinctually and protects me when i’m in pain

I first had to decide if I wanted to train a puppy myself or get one from an organization that does specialty training. I thought I wanted to train them myself but quickly realized I wouldn’t have the time nor energy to do that. it’s also really important to find the right breed for you. mine has to be hypoallergenic. if you decide to go the pre trained route, I would start googling [specialty] service dogs near me
