Dealing with Anxiety While Traveling in an 18 Wheeler

i ride in an 18 wheeler with my husband and my anxiety is very high right now I went to the Dr and ask for something for it but he told me I'll have to get out of the truck and did not give me any more meds for it, I'm already in vraylar and Cymbalta is there any thing I can do to lower my anxiety other than getting out of the truck

so the idea behind it is to activate the brain body connection that exists between our thoughts and how our body responds to them in a way that breakes the "I'm in danger" stress cycle. Step 1 is to identify your fear/stress trigger what are you feeling anxious about? Step 2 determine on a 1-10 scale how intense it feels both in your thoughts and in your body's responses. Step 3 create a phrase related to the problem that helps you feel accepted and safe. Ex "Even thought I'm anxious about rent, I accept myself and know we will do our best." Step 4 Tap on different nerve points known as "meridian points" while saying your phrase with each tap. (I cant easily describe these so you would need to Google them maybe find a YouTube video demonstrating the tapping) You can go through the sequence a few times and then... Step 5 assess how you are feeling again based on the 1-10 scale you established earlier and compare it to how you were feeling earlier to verify that it's actually helpful to you. (Maybe different tapping, or phrases might work better, maybe it's not something that is super effective for you. But by doing the before and after comparison you are able to know how it's helping. )

It depends on what triggers the anxiety. But there are a few things that can be done to help engage the body's natural calm down and clean up of the stress response hormones that trigger the symptoms of anxiety. Some of them are life style changes and some of them are in the moment responses to anxiety. I can go into greater detail about how each thing can help or what they mean, but I'm trying to avoid making a giant post so if you have specific questions I'm having to answer them. Life style changes: - consistent rest and good sleep hygiene - therapy - nutrition centric eating - regular exercise In the moment: - acupressure - Emotional freedom technique (EFT) also called tapping - Vegus nerve activation
