Does anyone one want to share how they explain their condition to other people? I'm terrible at it 🤣

I'm terrible at it to. I usually just don't tell ppl unless I'm forced to. I think when u go through years of self doubt regarding your condition, its hard to explain it to others and not have that come up again. I hope others don't all feel like that

It is really hard, I struggle to know how to explain it to people. especially if I mention having CPTSD and they ask 'why' or something like that - I get stressed out because that's super personal 🥲 In general I don't explain things too much unless I really feel safe to or there's a need to because I tend to consider my health pretty private, as people can ask invasive/insensitive questions even if they don't recognise them as such, so I need to trust them before I even attempt it

I'm the same! But I've had it for more then 8 years now, and I've been put it off so long I never learned how!

I usually tell them with my FM that I suffer chronic pain and fatigue. For my C-PTSD I explain that I am a survivor of complex trauma from a young age.
