Hi everyone ☺️ I was wondering if anyone else has recently started taking setraline for depression, anxiety and panic disorder? What are your experiences with it and more importantly what side effects have you experienced so far ? I started taking it yesterday and I just wanted to see what people were thinking, as I have heard a lot of bad things about setraline. Thank you for your feedback🙂

I've been taking it for years when I became menopausal and had severe anxiety I take the lowest dose and I have no anxiety now. The two weeks I went on it initially I was so tired and sick but wouldn't be with out it. I try to stop it and my anxiety comes back . Different anxiety mess work for different people x

I've been taking it for just over a year and I agree with everyone that starting is the worst part, but once it balances out I've felt so much better. I've also started to feel.a little motivation kicking in which for me is a revelation! I hope you feel the benefits soon

It worked alright for me, but starting it up kicked my butt. It greatly affected my autonomic nervous system. I struggled to fall asleep, then struggled to wake up. I'd forget to breathe and black out. I felt so sick for about a week, and then my body mostly adjusted. I had to be careful to take it on time. Otherwise, those symptoms would come back. It helped some with the depression, but after maybe a year or two of being on it, it stopped working for me. I didn't notice at first, but I dissociated for months, walking through what felt like a dream, until I was finally knocked out of it by a big life event caused by my dream-like state. I got fired from my job, which caused me to reevaluate my life, and I had to switch medications. I hope it works better for you. I tend to react poorly to medications. Just keep an eye out for side effects. Best of luck!

I used to take it for about 3 and a half years and it was the best antidepressant I was on. I had no really bad side effects. I think I gained some weight but that is person to person. It made me feel a little emotionless but it was much better than lexapro. It was a little hard to go off of. I improved immediately when I got on it and only switched because I wanted to get on adhd meds. 👍

I take it and it's worked well for me. No obvious side effects and I take 150mg.

My side effects are normally - feeling emotional, sick, dry month, drowsy at times, i feel low most of time. But my experiences are that I've been on it for about a 1 year I think, it's helped me massively but at times I feel like it doesn't but I think it takes time to get used to.

I'm starting to feel a difference about a week in. My anxiety has definitely improved. I was able to climb onto a ladder to clean the walls without feeling super nervous and I had the guts to tell my coworker I couldn't work an extra day (still felt bad about it but hey I'm only a week in). I feel a little drowsy after taking it so I prefer to have it around bedtime. I'm trying it because it works wonders for my aunt who experienced similar issues to mine. So far so good! Hope you see great results!

@Ardorable Thank you so much for your feedback! I have been taking it for two weeks now and had issues with it at first but it's working wonders now! I hope it works for you too🤗
@Izzywizzyletsgetbusy I'm starting to have a dry mouth. I feel a little sick sometimes but that could be the depo shot I got a couple days after starting. Probably not the best idea to start both at the same time. Oops. I'm sure the side effects will go away with time. I'm still feeling less anxious than before and I'm really glad it's working for you too.
I have taken sertraline since I was 11 and now I'm 24. The first few weeks while it kicks in for me at least is increased anxiety and panic attacks but after it kicks in i have like one panic attack a month. I felt normal and independent for years on it and it made it to where I could function normally.

@briharris013 thank you so much for your reply, I was worried that weight gain might be a potential side effect, as I am currently trying to lose weight. Your comment made me feel more at ease☺️
Hi, I started taking it 1 year ago . For me it helped alot with anxiety and intrusive thoughts. But I had digestive problems got about a hour and no libido for ages
@anubis56 thank you for your feedback, it made me feel a lot more confident about taking setraline ☺️
