What treatment did you receive? Any experiences with daunorubicin or cytarabine? did you go through stem cell transplant?

I was diagnosed with AML at age 67, just few weeks to my 68th birthday. I was on cytosar for 6 months. Well, it was a pretty smooth ride, just a few hitches here and there but it was ok. My appetite was very bad and I had some mouth sores. stay strong!

So... my AML journey was with daunorubicin, cytarabine AND etoposide. As for the stem cell transplant gig, I didn't have to go through it, but many of our friends in the forum have and I'm sure they'll be able to share their thoughts... and regarding what suits you best - trust your gut and your doctors - they should know their stuff. Hang tough, warrior!
