I try a lot of different things that work some days and don't others. I've been trying these for years even though my diagnosis is recent and honestly relieving. 1. When a whole day is too much, I break it down smaller. I can get this hour done. Sometimes minutes. Setting a goal of I can do this for a minute can give me enough reward to complete I can do 5 then 10. I'd give this one a 50/50 success rate for me. 2. I try a specific task for 5 minutes. The idea is momentum might get me done. Sometimes it does. Sometimes I just have 5 minutes less dishes in the sink. 3. I set a lot of alarms. Noise bothers me so an alarm going off gets me moving. I save this one for super important stuff like meds or picking kids up. 4. I set a timer for 15-30 minutes to do something I really want to do that's not productive at all. I enjoy drawing (if poorly) so I will give myself the reward of drawing for the effort of tasking afterwards. 5. Sometimes it's okay to just not be able to and I work hard and not feeling bad about it. Worth nothing I am comorbid with either ocd or ADHD, the docs haven't figured out which yet. Good luck!
