My Journey with Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma: Diagnosis, Surgery, and Radiation Therapy

I was diagnosed with Grade 1 Endometrioid adenocarcinoma in February 2022, following an Endometrial Biopsy & Transvaginal Ultrasound. I was referred to a Gynaecological Oncologist and 2 months later had a Radical Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy on April 11, 2022. Pathology report came back labeling it as Stage 2-Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma, Grade 2, with Endocervical Stromal Involvement. Now, I'm told I need Radiation Therapy post-Surgery, and referred to a Radiation Oncologist. He says I need 25 External Radiation Treatments and 3 Brachytherapy Sessions to cure my Uterine Cancer. I am to start External Radiation Therapy June 8th and finish by July 13. Towards the end of the External Radiation, they will do another CT Scan and prepare for the 3 Internal Radiation Therapy Sessions. I'm anticipating radiation to completely be done by the end of July 2022. Then, I will follow up with my Gynaecological Oncologist everything 3 months for a period of time, the a little less often and go through the 5 year mark.

      My surgery was June 7- I end up having a partial hysterectomy leaving both my Ovaries. I’m now going into 3mnths recovery- I had stage 1A uterine cancer. It’s been a slow recovery but healing@Wisteria- I hope your doing ok and hope the cancer stays away. It’s nerve wrecking to know we have to watch our backs yearly for reoccurrence

      I hope all has gone well for you so far. I had a hysterectomy in 2016 (age 44) due to endometriosis problems. When they removed my uterus, the fund a tumor inside. I had to have internal radiation (5-7 sessions) after that. I ended up with a recurrence in 2018. A PET scan showed the cancer had metastasized to a lymph node in my neck and a spot in my abdomen. I've been doing chemo since the. For the pat two years I've been on a combo of Keytruda and Lenvima. They've done well at keeping the cancer under control.

      I don’t know much about this but I was told by my dr that it is a possibility that I might have uterus cancer I also have fibrosis I have been bleeding with this also I don’t know how to esplanades it but I get up in the morning and my under close is just wet in the front like I have peed but I have not and it does not smell not even like urin I have has an utursound done and an MRI now I go see dr tomorrow and she said he may have to do another pap or set me up for a D&C has anyone else had this experience

      My womanhood will be stripped away next Tuesday. I’m nervous of what’s to come and how my body will react to me not having no hormones

      I too have Uterine Cancer Grade 1A at the moment and waiting for my full hysterectomy-robotically on June 7th. I’m taking Megesterol at the moment for treatment til Surgery- I’m 39 with no kids. I was told 5 incisions through abdominal area and reproductive organs coming through vagina. How long were you in hopsital and what was your whole experience like- pls do tell? I’m nervous of course but couldn’t be happier to get that Cancer out of me! How long was healing or when did you start to walk/sit. And like me I’ll be in full menopause after surgery- what we’re your symptoms if you had forced menopause?

        @Pisces2022 I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 25. I'm now 45 and it's difficult. Lots of emotional ups and downs. Especially when ppl ask about kids
