Encountering a Trauma Trigger: Dealing with the Past

Last week one of my friends tried introducing me to a friend they had made which was a person from my past who caused a lot of trauma, it was awkward and I just kind of stood there, while they both talked and tried talking to me. I texted my mom about it later and she said I hope you said nice things, I said no I didn't speak, because I had nothing nice to say. In that moment I low-key felt like a bad*ss.
