Looking for advice on emotional support and service animals

Hello! I'm wondering about emotional support and service animals. I don't even know where to start about getting one or seeing which might be the best option for me or if that'd really be useful to me at all. I don't really need support 100% of the time so it seems a service dog would be more than I need right now but I just don't know. Does anyone here have either of these types of animals? Can you share your experience?

I have an emotional support animal (yorkie) that I absolutely adore and she’s a great help! I got her when my doctor informed me of a possible MDS diagnosis. As you could imagine, I was horrified, I developed anxiety, loss weight and was struggling mentally. During that time I decided to get her and I don’t regret any moment of her being in my life. Thankfully my results were negative. I’ve still been on an emotional roller coaster since then but she definitely helps a lot.
