Struggling with Emotional Eating and Weight Loss

I know that if I can keep eating better and lose more weight, a lot of my problems will go away. But I'm a very emotional eater and that's often difficult when my anxiety or depression flare up.

i would recommend starting a habit when your mental health is better, and preparing for when it’s worse. my favorite way to do that is learning simple healthy recipes, stop buying unhealthy foods, and practicing intuitive eating. for cravings, eat something healthy and filling, distract yourself with something you enjoy, or eat a small amount of what you are craving. small steps lead to big progress, even if it’s just putting cookies at the back of the cupboard. good luck and much love ❤️

One thing that has really been helpful for me in my diet has been drinking "zero sugar" soda instead of diet, like Coke Zero, Pepsi Zero, Mt Dew Zero, etc. It actually sates any cravings for soda/pop I tend to get, but it never has the same aftertaste as diet beverages tend to have.

I am in the same boat. All of my issues inform one another and cause weight gain but can also reduce in how bad they are with weight loss. I am an emotional eater as well and I always feel like it's an uphill battle.
