For me it was too intense and my therapist wanted to move too quickly with it. Not sure if I would try it again in the future, but maybe.

It’s super difficult, especially at first, but so worth it. I ugly-cried for the first two sessions, but now my flashbacks and trauma-related psychosis are mostly gone.

It’s rough. I don’t do it every week, but when I do, I know I’m done for the day. I need to rest and take care of my body.

it was really hard to start for me because i had buried my trauma so deeply, but when things actually started happening it got INTENSE. there was a period while i was doing EMDR that every emotion felt like poking at an open wound, but as we worked through it, the phase passed and now i can think about that trauma without completely shutting down, which is a huge step!! TLDR; overall, was pretty good for me. some of it sucked, but it led to the results i needed and wanted.

I started EMDR with my last therapist and it was helpful for me. But I was dissociating too much so we didn't continue. From the small amount that I did it was quite helpful for me although it can be pretty intense and is definitely not for everybody.
