Electric Shock Sensation in Hip and Leg Twitching

does anyone else experience this ? sometimes, i get this feeling (sort of like an electric shock) on my hip for example, and then my entire leg will involuntarily twitch or jump. right now, on my left hip i feel a sort of itch or shock, which is triggering my entire leg (mainly at my foot) to jump. its very uncomfortable but im unsure if it can be explained by anything ?

I don’t have twitching or shocks I think but I have these weird itchy burning sensations in certain in certain areas. I don’t have any medical knowledge but my assumption was the inflammation somewhere was pushing on some nerves. Wonder if it’s related.

Gabapentin causes those symptoms, very severe for me. I had to switch to lyrica after a year or two on gaba because the "brain zaps" were ruining my quality of life

I don't take gabapentin but I also get this and have done for years. I always thought I was the issue 😂

I experience this too. Sometimes it’s so severe it looks like a seizure. Someone else commented about gabapentin, I take gabapentin as well but I’ve been on and off of it and have experienced the twitching even without the gabapentin. So I’m not sure what’s going on but you’re not alone!

Do you take gabapentin?? This happened the first day I started taking it. From elbow to fingertip in both hands. It was so intense it felt like an actual electric shock. A tens unit, meant to stimulate nerves on a low setting, did this EXACT same thing to me when I put it on a higher setting, so I know it’s got to do with the nerves. Unfortunately we don’t know enough about them - yet I know in my heart fibro has something to do with them malfunctioning, whether we can measure it or not. Its normal for some of us with fibro. Its not deadly or debilitating (note to self) it’s just super fucking irritating.

I get a lot of twitching in muscles, never sure if it is fibro or anxiety that causes it though.
