My DO took me off of Zoloft for two weeks to try Effexor. I’ve been medically stable on Zoloft for almost 4 years; she’s my new provider so I guess she wanted to switch things up 🤷🏽‍♀️ anyhow. Effexor made my anxiety SO much worse, like worse than I was without Zoloft or Wellbutrin. At the end of those two weeks I started taking my Zoloft again and I’ve been about 3 weeks stable again. Avoid Effexor if you can

I've had issues with almost every antidepressants I've tried, including effexor. it makes my depression worse, and caused more anxiety and restlessness also. i have bipolar 2 tho, and that's why antidepressants don't work for me and make things worse. i hope you can talk to your provider and maybe get on something that helps more

After years of no depression, it brought it roaring back with a vengeance ... And I had to taper off of it again, and even when I was tapered, my depression was worse than ever .... Until I started the next option, Straterra, which my doc said is less active with your mood and more geared towards attention and focus. It literally had me feeling better within a few hours... I swear to God. I've never seen anything like it. And it's not placebo, because I wasn't expecting to feel anything at all, and when I checked with my doc, she said two other patients of hers had the same experience. Please, ask your doc about adding Straterra. For me, it's in conjunction with Bupropion/Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin had been super helpful for me, with energy, focus, and clarity coming through. I compared it to a radio station being suddenly tuned to the right station instead of in between But I wanted even more clarity, so... The rest is history
