I believe Ginger really helps but probably not to the extent that you would need it to assist you :( I hope you find something! I use a vegetarian/ natural hormone birth control pill called nextstellis and I’ve had no side effects from it so maybe something like that would be good? Sorry I couldn’t help much!
NSAIDs have been known to help with heavy bleeding. I unfortunately am not one of those people though 😔 I also agree with the heating pad recommendation above! They were the only thing that I got relief from when I had very heavy periods.
Since you said you have painful periods the thing that will help soothe the pain the most except for medicine is a heating pad or if you dont have one/cant get one anything warm placed on the stomach will work. I know you said besides medicine but if you can get your hands on some midol that + the warm object relives most of the pain!
