so I know that with EDS, there are different types, but can one have EDS without the hyper mobility but still have the subluxations and dislocations and connective tissue issues and not be hyper mobile and have stretchy skin? I'm plus sized so nothing is stretchy or anything. I'm just trying to figure out why I keep dislocating and such when I'm not necessarily fully hyper mobile. 😊

There are multiple forms of EDS. Hypermobile is the one that deals with a lot of dislocations. You don’t have to have stretchy skin. There are a lot of questions it asks. Have you looked at the Elhers-Danlos Society’s website? Here is the checklist for hEDS. https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/heds-diagnostic-checklist/

@justkittenya @lilac_night omg thank you guys! I looked at the website but didn't understand much of it, thank you!! I have GI issues as well so oof it all makes sense now. Lemme look at the website and see if I can try and decipher everything again.

^^ also connective tissues are basically everything. Everyone has connective tissues. It being a connective tissue disorder basically means it can be any of them. Bones, cartilage, the joints, fat, blood, skin, among other things.

Just because you don't dislocate or aren't super flexible doesn't rule out EDS. On the Beighton scale it asks if you ever were hypermobile. Not if you currently are.

@Magpie42 ohhh okay! I definitely dislocate all the time, and at one point was hyper mobile more than normal so thank you! I appreciate it.
