I started taking Lurasidone at night couple weeks ago (it made me feel super weird when I took it during the day) and I can't quite figure out what to eat with it. Like, I don't want to have 350 calories of junk food right before bed, you know? Any suggestions?

In regards to meal caloriea, at least 500 calories I've lost 30 pounds in the past 5 months from not eating well enough because my anxiety makes me lose my appetite, but I started buying meal replacement shakes and drink a shake when I take my meds. I'm lactose intolerant so I just bought a vegan meal replacement shake

I'm on the same anti psychotic. I have IBS and have a history of hemorrhoids. Lurasidone keeps me no more stable than Geodon, but with even worse side effects. It gave me horrible constipation which makes my panic attacks worse which made my hemorrhoids so bad I might need surgery to get them removed now. I hate this med with all my passion and I'm counting down the days to my next appointment after having been on it over a few months after Geodon. But different meds work for different people. My brother is on the same med and at a higher dose then I am and he's just fine. Everyone reacts differently and unfortunately sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error. I started seeing a psychiatrist when I was 17 back in 2005. I'm 35 years old now. The only med that kept me personally stable was Fanapt until my insurance stopped covering it and it's not available as a generic for a few more years and I can't afford $2k+ a month on meds that helped me thrive because some rich insurance companies wanted more money. I've been struggling ever since, Lurasidone is the 10th anti psychotic I have tried since age 17. Fanapt did wonders for me personally, but it's too expensive for me to pay out of pocket. I'm on disability and can barely make ends meet as it is

One suggestion is to have two forms of protein and a large breakfast, then wait 30 minutes before taking the pills to avoid nausea. If you're not a breakfast person, consider small meals that are high in protein but not too sweet or full of texture. Another option is to take the medication after dinner so you have a full belly.
