Has anyone tried dry needling for chronic hip pain?

I have chronic pain in my hip, and my PT brought up the option of dry needling. Have any of you ever gotten dry needling done? If so, how painful was it? Did it help, and how long did it take to help? Thank you!

I get dry needling, and I found it helpful after a few treatments. The needle is so thin that I just feel the insertion, but it doesn't hurt.
