Doctor Ignored My Pain for Years

Anyone else have doctor horror stories? I’ve been in severe joint and muscle pain for about four years and my doctor ignored me and wouldn’t get me help. I had to see a new doctor just for a Rheumatologist referral. just got help this past year and got an actual diagnosis. No thanks to my pcp.

My doctor ignored my gallbladder attacks for a full year before I had the worst attack yet and ended up in the ER having emergency surgery to get it removed. ...I now have a different (better) doctor

One of the worst horror stories I can think of is when I develop sepsis in my bad leg which is partially paralyzed and has bad circulation and I needed to go to the ER but because my family is garbage they only took me to an urgent care☠️☠️☠️ so when I get to the Urgent Care I have an inexperienced nurse give me a shot of antibiotics hits my sciatic nerve my whole body is in excruciating pain from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes I can feel every single nerve in my body inflamed I am screaming on the top of my lungs for about 10-20 minutes and my mother is in the room with me just sits there kind of looking at me like what happened and I'm unable to move then the doctor runs in and has to help me lay down on my side so I'm not in as much Agony have to wait another 20 to 30 minutes for everything to subside before I can move again and then I will even go home eventually I healed but very very bad experience if you are sick please to God have someone who gives a f$@k about you nearby

Yes I do my first doctor ignored all my pleas for help and made my entire body worse. She thought 20 was too young to have health problems. I had just had my son at 19 and all the symptoms starting right after I had him. I decided to get a new doctor I have a few different ones now since their specialists. But I'm really grateful to finally be seen and heard and treated the right way. Always get more opinions this is our health. We know how we feel and what we go through and there are still a few good doctors left. Sometimes maybe hard to find but I would suggest an internal medicine specialist.

Right now I'm in the process of trying to get treated. Everytime I keep going to the Health Clinic no one takes me seriously. They all tell me I'm too young for what I'm call what it is for the symptoms.

Yes! My doctor didn't run any tests just told me I had fibromyalgia so now I'm trying to get him to test me for lupus at least because my mom has it but he thinks it will just be a false positive. I also have a horror story for my abdominal migraines diagnosis in highschool. I had to go to 10 different doctors who all said I was perfectly healthy and probably just had an eating disorder before I finally found a doctor who diagnosed me.

when I was 5, I started experiencing extreme pain and swelling in my jaw. my pediatrician assumed it was regular osteomyelitis, and as a result threw round after round of antibiotics at me. I finally went to a maxillofacial surgeon to figure things out when I was 6. he did a biopsy, and go figure, there was no bacteria. because no one could figure out what I had, they just pumped me full of antibiotics and NSAIDs for the next 4 years. when I was 10, I was referred to another maxillofacial surgeon. he ended up calling his infectious disease specialist colleague, and together they did another biopsy, while also putting in a PICC line. I was on strong intravenous antibiotics for a month. the biopsy came back sterile again, and their brilliant idea was to give me ANOTHER PICC LINE. another month of the same IV antibiotics until they realized that they goofed, and they goofed bad. they finally realized that what I have is chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis, and all the antibiotics hurt me more than they helped. today I'm in remission due to proper treatment, and also, amoxicillin doesnt work on me anymore
