I have a drs appt on the 8th and I’m scared to death, I don’t enjoy talking about how I’ve been feeling physically/emotionally. Would it be weird to bring a small notebook/notes to my appt about what I want to talk about? I feel like if I don’t write it down I’ll forget something :(

Bring the notes, you can also make a copy to give to your doctor if you want(I do that and mine really appreciates it). I also do this because I'll forget what I want to say. I also find it helpful to have them because i trip over my words less when I'm focusing on reading the words as opposed to thinking about and speaking at the same time. Good luck with your appointment!

Definitely. Notes can keep you from just saying you're fine and letting the appointment be another stepping stone to nowhere. If the doc doesn't know, there's no way for them to help you. It's easy to lock up and say "I'm fine," but to get better, we have to speak the truth. You can do it. Those notes are not a useless idea. Trust me. I see multiple doctors for different chronic ailments and I also have a memory disorder. I know what it's like to ignore my notes or just pretend to get the appointment over with. You'll never make progress that way. In some cases, it'll only make it worse.
Not weird at all I do that sometimes, or I’ll just pull out notes on my phone Otherwise sometimes there is a pressure to just go with the conversation and say everything’s fine even if it’s not, so I think you’re doing a really smart thing :)
No that’s actually perfect I’ve just started seeing a therapist abt a month ago but it is really good to bring in a notebook or journal I have that same problem I feel uncomfortable talking about and I get flustered and anxious and forget a lot of stuff and jump back nd fourth between what I’m saying, it’s not weird at all a good bit of people do that
