Looking for Distractions from Chronic Pain

Pretty new on here & this is the first time I've got over my nerves enough to post lol. Having one of those nights where everything hurts, fatigue is brutal, & honestly just trying to stop myself wondering if it's actually all worth it. What's everyone's best distraction? 😊 I'm currently on Netflix (How to get away with Murder, great series so far lol), considering doing a bit of drawing on my tablet, and hoping I'll feel up to building a bit of Lego tomorrow once I've done the jobs I need to. Also trying to get excited for Wrestlemania this weekend (don't judge me πŸ˜‚πŸ€£) πŸ’•

I read a lot, as that’s my favorite. When the weather is good and I feel up to it, I like to fish. I will do what I can when I can. I love to hike but now only easy trails; I find poles help me a lot and magnesium salt baths afterwards are a lifesaver. I enjoy games on my phone or board games. Face Time calls with friends are lovely too.

I make clothes and blankets. Doilies are a bit beyond me now that my wrists won't take it. I haven't found anything yet for the severe pain, but I do distract myself as best I can.

Hi! I totally understand what you are saying. I am currently in a horrible fibromyalgia flare. Everything hurts to the core, even touching my hair hurts. πŸ₯Ί I loved the series How to Get Away With Murder. It keeps you intrigued. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did. Some of the things I do to distract myself are binge watching a good series, puzzles (word and picture), adult coloring books, and making jewelry. I've been wanting to learn how to crochet, cross stitch, or knit. Although, with my arthritis, it may be a little hard to do at times. My grandma taught me how to crochet, but I didn't continue with it. πŸ˜• I wish I had. Gentle hugs to you! I hope you get some relief soon! But I know it never comes soon enough. πŸ«‚

I tend to watch Criminal Minds or Star Trek. I also read, draw, and crochet. I'm sure that looking forward to an event really helps, too. As for the pain, when you figure it out, let me know! I completely understand.

oh cool, it sounds like we have a lot of the same hobbies lol, I read a lot & crochet too, though I can only draw on my tablet now after breaking my hand a few years back. I also like both those shows, though my favourite Star Trek is next gen 😊 I'm also a huge Marvel, LotR, Star Wars & Supernatural fan. As for the pain, only thing I've found that helps is distracting myself sadly πŸ˜• What kind of stuff do you crochet?

As far as distraction I draw a lot and read and watch different shows on Amazon prime and Disney plus. And best of all In my opinion I sleep as much as I can. Especially when the depression is really bad. I hope that can help you. Also idk if you’re religious or not but I use this website jw.org it has a lot of useful information on it. Kids teens adults everyone. And there’s a search box you can type what subject you are looking for and there will be mags all sorts of things

I'm sorry you're going through it too. Nights where it hurts like that & you're alone are the worst πŸ’•

I have prime too, though I prefer Disney+ or Netflix most of the time. Prime is awesome for the amazon deliveries though πŸ‘πŸ€—
