Looking for Support with Dissociation and Therapy Techniques

Does anyone have experience with dissociation, EMDR, or Ego-State Therapy? I'm having a hard time finding someone to relate to what I'm going through

Make sure you vibe with the therapist first and if the trust is there, EMDR can be fantastic. It helped me a lot.

I believe you can do EMDR virtually depending on the therapist

I am also curious about EMDR. Would love to know more about it. Can it be done virtually?

@Charlize, it's nice to hear from you. I'm not sure there is a way to send a DM here, I've only seen posts so far. But I am also very interested in hearing about your experience with EMDR. It's been really hard for me, but I'm trying to remain optimistic bc my psychiatrist and psychologist think it's a really good idea to better address and manage my symptoms long term. I have been doing it for a few months, but I also struggle with dissociation, so sometimes when the session is too much I float away. What has your experience been? I am curious to hear more if you are willing to share. I don't know anyone personally who has done EMDR so I was excited to find this app

I currently do EMDR and it’s been a godsend. Best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

I have dissociation and I've done EMDR. I've found it to be super helpful to be honest! I would especially recommend it if your dissociation is around traumatic experiences.

I looked it up after reading this, it's very intense it seems. Something I would not be able to do, but if you can more power to you! I did see studies that said it can help in and long and short term but that it takes awhile to work
