Getting Disability with Fibromyalgia: Need Advice

Also: please be gentle with yourself during this process. The government wants to make you feel bad for needing this money. They’re gonna do everything they can to make you try to give up before you get benefits. It’s frustrating, invalidating, and can take a year or two before you get anywhere. Don’t give up! Also, try not to hate yourself for needing help. I did for years, and it made me sicker.

I was able to get on disability with fibro, but one is not enough, you must consider every disabling condition you have (even if minor) bc it ultimately affects your quality of life. You are trying to convince people who’s job it is to deny you benefits, that you deserve them utterly. I highly recommend getting a disability lawyer to help you fight for them.

I currently am on temp disability might have to be longer - it is a combo of depression and anxiety for me as well
